Health's Final Call

The pain is real

yet indescribable to most.

Heat, ice, massages sometimes help,

but if the pain is constant,

How do you explain what you feel?

General consent for mediocre treatment

just to receive help.

Injections, medications, questions sometimes help,

but if the pain is consistent,

Is it better to replace any part with steel or cement?

Demographics, religion, sex, nor race matters,

so health care should be given at its best.

Teamwork, understanding, communication helps,

Is it too much to ask for all professionals to gather?

Sharp, dull, achy or all,

Pain has various categories to describe feeling,

Still being described in one word.

Pain, pain, pain and more pain.

Will it always be this way?

Is my pain really being taken care of after all?

Mental Health Is Real!!

Now, more than anytime in our lives, people are experiencing more and more depression. The way the economy is going, uncertainty with job security, Covid pandemic, schools closing, drug overdoses and so much more is causing the need for more mental health services in the world. WHERE ARE THEY????? I

I have personally tried to get appointments and counseling services for depression from many places,  but none seemed to help, have appointments or even give a therapist/counselor who genuinely cares. If it's a problem for me and I am just one individual,  I can't imagine the toll it is taken on someone with more than just depression.  This has to stop!!! People need mental health counseling services and therapeutic services due to our current social issues.

In order to be successful at receiving treatment for a mental illness, we must put pressure on our politians to increase services, the number of available therapist, the proper medication distribution and the create an appropriate ratio of clients to therapists.  This way, therapists are not overwhelmed with their caseload and people can get the proper help.  Too many people are suffering, dying and killing due to a lack of help for mental illness. The really sad part is: some people REALLY want help.  Let's stand together as one and take the proper channels to change what is NOT working into something that will work.

Help is Here

Today is the start of telling my journey as a 41 year old woman with no children, a college degree who is on physical disability.  I have began this blog mainly to help others in the same position as myself. In hopes they will not feel alone, become encouraged, learn information and gain support while reading or sharing stories.  There are several messages, emails, phone calls and conversations received concerning all the health conditions I have and how I deal with them.  The main source of my strength is the Lord.  I have learned the Lord guides us towards certain people, places and things in order for us to receive help.  The main thing is not to give up!

Let me start by stating all of the conditions diagnosed by doctors in my life since 2007.  Transverse Myelitisis, Peripheral Neuropathy, Neurosarcoidosis, Epileptic and Non-Epileptic Seizures, Fibromyalgia, High Cholesteral, GERD, Anxiety and Panic Attacks.  Also, Endometriosis treated with a Total Oopherecetomy.  My dreams of continuing onto Law school were put on hold after my first diagnoses of Transverse Myelitisis.  The day it happened, it was in the middle of the night.  When I stood up to go to the bathroom, I instantly hit the floor.  I could feel nothing but pain as my boyfriend at the time attempted to pick me up and carry me to the bathroom.  We decided I needed to go to the hospital immediately.  After carrying me to the car and into the hospital, doctors proceeded to work on me.  Every touch from my waist below felt like a needle prick.  The main doctor who saw me had been a, let's say bias doctor against my family (which she was later reprimanded for and removed as my doctor).  During the exam, the main objective appeared to be as if she was only attempting to in flick pain instead of find the cause.  She did not find a cause and I was admitted to the hospital for a week.

Following my release, I was in a wheelchair and told I would not walk again.  A physical and occupational therapist came to my home daily.  All the equipment like walkers, bedside commodes, etc.. were brought to my home.  I was in shock and completely lost!  I have a job in Social Work I loved, was on my way to pursuing my law degree and starting a new relationship.  How could all of this happen now, I would think everyday.

During any of my blogs, feel free to leave comments, ask questions, etc... The main points are what I would like to get out and each blog will be on a different condition or more than one.  I will not released hospitals or doctors' names for privacy reasons.  Some blogs will also have resources and/or recommendations *ALL BASED ON MY OPINIONS AND SOURCES*
